I am the schools emergency preparedness & planning coordinator for 2 school districts; on the emergency management team (EMT) for the North Shore (North & West Vancouver) (responsible to activate & set up municipal EOC's and Reception Centres)and president of the Emergency Social Services Association of BC (ESSA).

Hi there Bernadette! Thanks for joining the edu4drr network! As part of the shake out team it would be useful if you added yourself to this group on the site! If you click on 'groups' at the top of the page and then add yourself into the shake out one it would be very helpful in terms if group cimmunication. When you have done that please add a short biog alongside your aims and hopes for the shake out team!

DRR Competencies

I'm currently working in the Philippines on various DRR projects with schools and am wondering what DRR competencies have been developed. So many DRR activities are undertaken and that's good. But what are the competencies that these projects/activities are based on? Have some been developed? If so, where would I find them?
