This is a work in progress and more resources will be added over time!
These resources have been developed with flexibility in mind in terms of how they are delivered. You know your students’ strengths and weaknesses as well as their ability with both literacy and numeracy and what they respond well to in your classroom.
The curriculum is intended to challenge and stimulate your students as well as helping you to develop your own pedagogy and enhance your own teaching skills. Each lesson lays out the learning objectives for that particular lesson as well as the materials and steps required to achieve this. It is essential that you as the teacher read through and prepare these lessons in advance of teaching them as the preparation may require you to make something from the teachers resource booklet or bring in an essential ingredient (such as a small amount of flour) in order to be able to deliver the lesson effectively and to maximize the learning potential of your students.
Each part of the lesson has timings next to each task. These are there as a guideline and if students are fully engaged in a task and need more time, use your judgement as some task mays need less time while some need less. The evaluation tasks at the end of each lesson are important as a way of cementing knowledge or as a way of leading into the next lesson.
