Straw Built Houses - Good for schools too?

An engineering and education project using straw built houses to withstand earthquakes...Interesting ideas and testing that they want to take further by teaching local people how to construct these for themselves. DRR Competencies

I'm currently working in the Philippines on various DRR projects with schools and am wondering what DRR competencies have been developed. So many DRR activities are undertaken and that's good. But what are the competencies that these projects/activities are based on? Have some been developed? If so, where would I find them? I'd love to hear from folks, especially about DRR competencies related to schools. Thanks for any help you can give me. Beryl Cheal

Get children involved and EDUCATED in drills!

So what's the point of talking about education, drills, planning in schools etc if the students don't know what is expected of them. In most drills that I have see students are relatively passive participants. I have also been running training as part of INSET to teachers and leaders at my school which included table top exercises.
